HSBC City Cycle Ride, Leicester

Starting from DeMontfort University, the HSBC City Cycle Ride attracted 12,000 cyclists to enjoy the traffic-free streets of Leicester. WEGO joined in the fun of the family event by cycling the WEGO cargo bikes to help promote green logistics in the city…

The ride took place on Sunday 13 August and was part of the annual Ride Leicester Festival, which saw a weekend of bike-related activities taking place around the city including an impressive Elite riders’ race over the cobbles of Castle Yard, the Old Town and Mile Straight.

British Cycling and HSBC UK are working together with the ambition to make cycling the UK’s most popular activity and get two million people on bikes by 2020. The Leicester HSBC City Cycle Ride was one of 13 events being held across the UK during 2017 to help encourage more people to start pedalling.
